Welcome to the Pittsfield Education Foundation Scholarship!

This scholarship is available to students graduating high school in the Pittsfield Public Schools System. An award of $750 will be granted to four students (two from Pittsfield High & two from Taconic) who possess community spirit, honor diversity, and demonstrate integrity in all aspects of their lives. We invite all students pursuing a career or continuing to higher education. 


The applicant may apply in one of two ways, by submitting an online application or a paper application. Both Links are found below. If you choose to submit a paper application, please email your application to us at (please contain all documents to one email)  


The deadline for application submissions is April 29, 2022.

Scholarship Directions:

  1. The applicant may apply in one of two ways, by submitting an online application or a paper application. Paper Applications must be submitted by the deadline to our email (please contain all documents to one email)  

  2. Please provide a letter of recommendation from an educator or athletic coach discussing the applicant's ability, work habits, personality, and integrity. 

  3. A letter of recommendation from a responsible person who is not an educator or family member who can attest to the applicant's character, industry, disposition, and general worthiness. 

  4. Please include an academic record (transcript) with the submission of your application.

  5. Optional: Resume

PEF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit formed by supporters of the Pittsfield Public Schools (PPS) to improve literacy and educational outcomes for students. PEF is not an affiliate of the PPS. In addition to this scholarship, the Foundation's dedicated volunteers work to generate funds to support interventions for at-risk learners, enrich the whole child, and provide funding opportunities for educator professional development. Teacher-requested grants fund initiatives that complement and further what can be accomplished during the school day and are beyond the funding capacity through the school district's budget.
